Thick-tailed animals, cranky that scampers across the front page, all have a saber-toothed jaw, fossils confirm.
The remains of prehistoric animals was discovered in Argentina in 2002. Scientists have put a skeleton back together, only to reveal the ancient creature that resembles a squirrel with long sharp fangs to work hard.
The movie Ice Age described the "saber toothed" squirrel, unlike fossils found nearly 10 years ago.
Ancient mammal, which is now called Cronopio dentiacutus, is looking for a surprise. Prehistoric mammals are often difficult to recover, especially because of its small size, and the fact that they are 65 million to 220 million years old.
What makes this discovery so unique is that it is a vegetarian. Giant sharp teeth will not normally lead to that conclusion.
